The protected landscape area Bohemian Paradise (in Czech Český ráj) is a nature reserve about 90 km north-east of Prague. This time we want to take you to the area called Hruboskalsko. You will discover there Valdštejn castle, Hrubá Skála castle, symbolic climber cemetery, many spectacular viewpoints giving you a stunning panorama of rock city. You will enjoy the remarkable beauty of the landscape and numerous historic landmarks, bizarre rock formations and deep pine forests.
The hike is easy. The route is around 12-16 km long depending on the speed of walking, with short uphills. Check out our Hiking Difficulty Scale for more information about the difficulty of the hike.
We recommend comfortable hiking or running shoes, some water, food, fully charged phone, warm and waterproof clothes in case of raining. If you are interested, there is a local restaurant/brewery, where you can have lunch. But you can also bring your own food and have a picnic near Jizera river.
We meet in the morning around 7 a.m. outside the Main train station (Hlavní nádraží), in the park Vrchlického sady in front of Potrefená husa pub. The train leaves at 7:20 a.m. We return to Prague around 7.30 p.m.
